📲 Job Status Update Generator
Purpose
Generate clear, friendly customer-facing text or email messages for each stage of a repair job — from vehicle drop-off through job completion and pickup — so service advisors never have to manually compose status updates.
When to Use
Use this skill any time you need to notify a customer about their vehicle's status. Common triggers include: vehicle dropped off, diagnosis complete (with findings), waiting on parts, work in progress, work complete and ready for pickup, or payment link delivery. Also useful for batch-generating a full set of status templates your shop can load into its SMS or shop management system.
Required Input
Provide the following:
- Job stage — Which status update is needed (e.g., "drop-off confirmed", "diagnosis complete", "parts on order", "repair in progress", "ready for pickup")
- Customer and vehicle info — Customer first name, vehicle year/make/model
- Job details — Brief description of the work (e.g., "front brake pads and rotors", "AC compressor replacement")
- Additional context — Estimated completion time, total cost, payment link, special notes, or anything else the customer should know
- Message format — Text message (short) or email (longer, more detailed)

Process:

- Diagnosis complete — Informative, transparent (explain findings in plain language, no jargon)
- Parts on order — Proactive, sets expectations ("Parts arrive tomorrow, we'll get right on it")
- Repair in progress — Brief, confidence-building ("Your vehicle is in the bay now")
- Ready for pickup — Celebratory, action-oriented (include hours, payment link if applicable)
- Personalize with customer name and vehicle details
- Include the shop name and phone number for questions
- If generating a batch of templates, use

Output requirements:
- Matches the shop's communication tone (professional but approachable)
- No technical jargon — explain things the way you'd talk to a neighbor
- Includes a clear next step or call to action
