Insurance agency management system
Claude + Applied Epic
Your clients, contacts, attachments already live in Applied Epic. Connected to Claude, your team can ask questions of that data, draft from it and act on it, without copying anything between tabs. Here’s what that looks like for insurance businesses, and how we set it up.
What Claude does with your Applied Epic data
Real workflows we build on top of the connection. Each one becomes a skill your team runs in one step.
Renewal prep packets
For policies renewing in 60 days, pull client and contact data and draft a renewal summary and client outreach email for the account manager.
Certificate request handling
Summarize incoming COI requests against client data and draft the response for CSR review.
Attachment summarization
Summarize uploaded documents/call transcripts attached to an account into a short activity note.
Cross-sell opportunities
Review clients with a single line of business and draft tailored cross-sell outreach.
New-client onboarding emails
Draft welcome and next-steps emails using the new client's contacts and coverage details.
How the connection works
Applied Epic APIs (clients, contacts, attachments and more) require an agency-side SDK-API license, and production access requires Applied’s approval.
There isn’t an official Applied Epic connector for Claude that we could verify, so we build a small, scoped MCP server on the Applied Epic API and add it to your Claude workspace. Your team then uses Applied Epic data inside Claude like any other tool.
Requires an Applied SDK-API license and Applied's approval for production access; carrier/policy data handling must follow agency compliance requirements. The exact Applied Epic data available depends on the access Applied Systems grants; we confirm it during scoping.

Questions
Does Applied Epic have an official Claude connector?+
We didn’t find an official Applied Epic connector for Claude from Applied Systems or Anthropic. We connect the two through the Applied Epic API (partner api (approval required)), usually as a small MCP server your Claude workspace can use.
What Applied Epic data can Claude work with?+
Through the API, Claude can work with clients, contacts, attachments, policies, activities. We scope access to read-only wherever possible, and keep a person approving anything that changes records or reaches a customer.
Do we need a developer on staff?+
No. In a Claude Deployment Sprint we set up the connection, build the skills and train your team. You’ll need an admin login for Applied Epic and, if required, to approve API access with Applied Systems.
Will our Applied Epic data be used to train AI models?+
We set teams up on Claude business plans. Anthropic does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products to train models by default.
